This week with give you our New York fashion week hits & misses, the real guests of honor at Ellen's 60th, yet another clueless politician and the 90's are back?
SHOUT-OUT OF THE WEEK: AJA EVANS
This week it goes out to our friend Olympian Aja Evans who is currently in the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. She is competing in woman's bobsled for #TEAMUSA!
We are so proud of her and will be rooting her on! Apparently we aren't the only ones shouting her out this week! Bossip is showing some love with this piece...
MISS: JUSTIN TIMBERLAKES MAN OF THE WOOD POPUP SHOP
"Have you ever walked into a particularly cool bar or outdoor space and suddenly realized, 'I think what is happening in here is supposed to be art.' I have. It happened to me last night at the Justin Timberlake pop-up merch store." (LINK)
That's just a sample of an article that pretty much sums up the whole lackluster line and experience.
Ellen's birthday was the more LIT celebration ever! We couldn't believe Ellen turned 60... but I guess what's how you look like when you have no kids, no man and no debt!
We discuss Justin's half-assed halftime disaster. Kylie was pregnant, had a baby & named it Stormi? Don't worry we have new name options for her! Comedian Mo'Nique's back at it AGAIN & joining her in WTF News is Matthew Knowles aka Beyonce's Daddy plus we unveil our shoutout and word of the week!
SHOUT-OUT OF THE WEEK: RIHANNA
Our first shout-out of the week goes the Rihanna who helped raise over $2.3 Billion dollars for global education! Way to go Riri, you are not only talented and sexy AF but also an amazing humanitarian! Way to use your platform for good! Shout-out to you!
Was Janet Jackson to blame? Maybe not Janet exactly but her fans took to social media to "protest" Justin's wrong doing during their 2004 halftime performance that famously coined the term Wardrobe Malfunction.
The Jan Fam (Name given to Janet's fans) decided to make Super Bowl Sunday #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay taking the focus away from the game and onto the injustice and double standards she faced while also reminding the world of Janet's catalogue of hits!
Support didn't just come from your average fans, even celebrities joined in to #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay...
Living for #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay. we love you Miss Jackson. It's all for you. When we think of you nothing else seems to matter. Get us all together again in this Rhythm Nation. https://t.co/jJkXqSch3c
KARDASHIAN CORNER: KYLIE'S NEWEST LAUNCH IS MOTHERHOOD!
The Kardashian-Jenner clan also stole Sunday! This time is was Kylie Jenner's turn and she did it in the most basic way possible an Instagram post & youtube video!
We at What Da Podcast really aren't diggin' the name to tune in to hear our alternative name suggestions that maybe can convince her to rename the baby OR use one as a middle name!
WORD OF THE WEEK: MASTITIS
mas·ti·tis
maหstฤซdษs/
noun
inflammation of the mammary gland in the breast or udder, typically due to bacterial infection via a damaged nipple or teat.
Why did we pick this word you might ask? Well it's all because of Kristen Bell and the video below! Enjoy
WHAT DA F****: MO'NIQUE IS AT IT AGAIN & JOINING HER IS MATHEW KNOWLES AKA BEYONCE'S DADDY
Mo'nique is clapping back with yet another video and she has receipts this time, but instead of clearing her name it seems she just keeps digging herself deeper and deeper into the mess she made!
A post shared by Mo'nique (@therealmoworldwide) on
Mathew Knowles is in the news too trying to sell a new book he wrote titled "Racism: From the Eyes of a Child" this time he is not just trying to capitalize off his daughter's success but also the race issues going on in the world today.
In an interview with Ebony.com he said the following inflammatory comment...
"When it comes to Black females, who are the people who get their music played on pop radio? Mariah Carey, Rihanna, the female rapper Nicki Minaj, my kids [Beyonce and Solange], and what do they all have in common?"
He insinuated that their color made them successful and not their talent.
We here at What Da Podcast have one thing to say to you Mathew Knowles, you did your job, now have a seat and be quiet!
WHAT DA WHY: DORITOS MAKING A CHIP FOR HER
Well ladies the fight for equality is over because Doritos is working on a chip just for woman!
According the CEO of Pepsico that owns Doritos they are working on a chip that doesn't crunch as loud, doesn't make your messy and will come in a smaller bag so you can put it in your purse!
That's not the funniest part, read a couple sarcastically on point tweets!
women: give us equal pay
the world: look, a KFC female colonel!
women: we said equal pay
the world: doritos won't crunch anymore!!!
women: EQUAL PA-
the world: have you tried "BIC PENS FOR HER"??
Now that Doritos has delivered us from sexism, what are we gonna do instead of a women’s march next year, gals, should we just hang out quietly eating chips?
This week we give you our not so PC Grammy recap. Geriatric pimpin' with Quincy Jones! Epic clap back battles featuring Kim K. vs. Lindsay Lohan, Kendall Jenner vs. Scott Disick and Mo'Nique vs. Roland Who? Plus our Bowl of Super predictions and so much more! WHAT DA POP: GRAMMY RECAP & GERIACTRIC PIMPIN' WITH QUINCY JONES!
THE BOWL OF SUPER: WHAT WILL JUSTIN SING & BRITNEY'S PEPSI COMEBACK
What we know for sure regarding Justin's performance is that he will not be reuniting with N*Sync unfortunately and he are almost positive he will not sing "Rock Your Body" because of nipple gate aka the wardrobe malfunction from 2004.
Because of that let's revisit the last time Justin reunited with the boys...
And of course this classic moment...
And we can't wait to see what Britney's new Pepsi commercial will be, hopefully it will be as epic as the ones below!
This week we tackle the Grammy's, are they still relevant? The Oscars, have they ever been relevant? Comedian Mo'Nique, trying to be relevant! The Kardashians, the definition of
relevant and of course good old Donnie Trump!
WHAT DA POP: WE TALK ABOUT THE GRAMMY'S & OSCARS NOMINATIONS!
In our first episode we go all the way in! Why is Cardi B a thing? What's Taylor Swifts new video and song "End Game" all about? Is Donald Trump seriously throwing a Fake New Awards? Why is Tonya Harding getting a comeback? And what can men do to not be #MeTooed?
